What causes pink to feel the need to be in his cryptid moth form?

I mean it's not really a NEED. Like a lot of these forms it all started as a bit of fun and goofing around.
That said, it's proven handy as a last ditch tactic to scare tourists and campers away if they ever get too close to mimic ruins.
