Favorite vocal song from a video game? (i.e. Simple And Clean, Snake Eater, etc.)
Neuron HQ from Astral Chain super doesn't count but I'm gonna say it anyway.
But also Jump Superstar is great and so is The Stains of Time (Maniac Agenda Mix) [vs. Monsoon] from Revengeance. Also Sonic has 10,000,000 songs that would qualify for #1 so I'm disqualifying all of them to make my life easier.
hope your having a good day, whats your favorite snack and drink combo when your watching a movie/show/youtube video?
I'll just make my custom soda of:
50% Diet Dr Pepper
20% Lemonade
30% Diet Coke
and eat sour candy while watching anything if left to my own devices.
What is the best thing that's happened this week for you? Wishing you all the best, Noel
I'm having a really rough week but I did have a splendid time with Super Mario 64 BAZR. Also my viewers have been super supportive and that makes me happy. I know that many have also reached out to tell me how much what I/we do matters to them and helps.
What do you think is the most fascinating thing you've watched for content? Not the best or the worst, just the one you keep thinking about?
I honestly think Isolation 119 is the most fascinating thing I ever watched for content. The thing is though that I got the rights to distribute the movie because I loved it beforehand and was sad when it disappeared from streaming platforms. https://www.patreon.com/collection/34122?view=expanded
Favorite classic Namco arcade game?
Legend of the Valkyrie Maybe? I love the characters in that so much, but frankly I haven't played it a ton. Pole Position, Ms Pac-man, Tower of Druaga, Metro-Cross, Baraduke, and also Pac-Mania until I tried to beat the game on NES & Genesis for Retro Achievements and I grew to hate the game at higher levels! 😆 (this is all code for "I owned Namco Museum Vol. 3 & 5 growing up")
Sorry if you already answered this but why do you like the DS but dislike the 3DS?
The DS lite, and DSi are vastly more elegant machines than the 3DS in both ergonomics and function. The circle pad sucks, putting the focus on 3D for the top-screen hamstrung countless games performance-wise and the asymmetry between the two screens ruined the harmony that the DS had established. It's like the Game Gear version of a DS. The original model's build quality (membrane buttons) and ergonomics are absolute trash, and the screen quality was worse than the DSi. The 3D trick only worked especially well once you got to the New 3DS's which could use the camera to orient the 3D to your relative perspective, and even then most people don't even like or care about the 3D screen (that again, caused a lot of problems for games from a fidelity of what's possible angle to other more esoteric issues.) There are even ways that the 3DS was less capable of 2D graphics because of the difference in hardware, which was insane given that its backwards compatible. Also it launched at a dogshit price they immediately had to walk back. Also the circle pad sucks and there wasn't even a right analog input.
In conclusion, fuck the 3DS. DS(i) for life.
Given the opportunity, whose brain in the gaming industry would you want to pick about their creative process?
Koji Igarashi
Is there a series; TV, Book/comic, game etc; that ended prematurely that you'd love to see come back in some form or fashion?
The Critic.
Once Chugging Bleach is over, what is next on the Horizon? Counting Clovers? Jumping Kaisen? What is on the horizon for Noel Slamrockett and Pals?
I’d never announce a podcast via an anon QA thing.
Is there anything in particular that you don't like to see in metroidvanias?
I dislike when a Metroidvania is just Metroid. Motherfucker, do you think the “vania” is vestigial?
I also really like leveling as a mechanic. I think Bunny Must Die is the only Metroidvania I love without leveling.
