LONG POST SO STRAP IN

god i'm not even sure i have a process, i just kind of throw stuff at the wall and if it sticks it sticks. in the most generalest terms i pick cool animals i like, i don't have extensive lore or background or anything for anyone (although there are bits which i keep to myself because nobody cares about that sort of thing)

its documented elsewhere that bunnymoots lineage is more or less: line play avatar > refined into a "draw yourself as an animal crossing character" meme > finally stop being a fucking pussy and admit that you've been a furry this whole time

in general though rabbit felt like it fit the best at the time, i went pink because i wanted to use some different colour other than black for my guy, and their design is as simple as it is because if it wasn't i'd never remember how to draw it lmao. no excessive details, 4 colours max, simple outfit i can bash out easy. i never bother with making references because they always end up being ever so slightly different every time i draw them anyway and i feel like i don't want to lock myself into anything, and more to the point, not keep making references every time i fiddle with a design. theres enough art out there and to be quite honest on the rare occasions i get commissions, i want to see what YOU make my guy look like

as an aside if you dig back on my tumblr enough (don't do this, all that stuff sucks arse) early iterations look almost completely different to what bunnymoot looks like now. like i made them a fucking beanpole and i'm very glad i stopped doing that and filled them out a bit. that and the lop ears are just better

yingmoot was more or less "i'm going to turn this rabbit into a yinglet" initially but i brought some of the black back because it looked a bit bland without something contrasting. i sort of mostly abandoned that idea since they keep appearing together anyway, so if you were every curious about why they borrow colours, thats why. the two colour face split is a bit of a throwback to when i was going to have bunnymoot be black and white a la dutch rabbits, but again that got fiddled around with so much its basically not a thing anymore

thinking about it colours are the one thing i don't like coming up with, as evidenced by it taking about 12 years and about six different iterations (not all of them posted anywhere) for me to finally settle on a look for my bat lmao

if you catch me on vr or the screenshots i keep posting, you might think "whats up with the dragon?" well, i just think that model is neat and its a nice shape to wear when i don''t want to be short all the time. and i can make it pink, although i haven't customised it at all because every time i think about opening unity or fannying about with textures i want to blow myself up with a big bomb
