And I personally think Chihiro finally doesn’t see and perceive her parents as pigs anymore. As for her, in her eyes, her parents are ‘humans’. When she was told to choose which ones her parents are among those pigs, she easily recognized that her parents aren’t two of them. That scene with Haku you mentioned is, indeed, heartwarming. I truly kin how Haku is as fictional character since he has his own duality.

And for Kiki’s Delivery Service, I took my time to watch it and I can say I agree with you. It’s about adulting and being independent. Not relying on others. Yet, it’s okay to get some help and emotional support from others. The way I interpreted it when I was watching is Kiki got burnt out, overwhelmed by a lot of things in her life as she was still trying to fit in and figuring it out so it made her ‘lose her magic’. The magic is passion in my personal interpretation. When people lose their passion, sometimes they aren’t as excel at what they do as they usually are. Like her friend with drawing skill, just because there was time when we ‘lost our magic’ or ‘sparks’, it doesn’t mean we couldn’t get it back again. It doesn’t mean we can’t thrive again. It’s not the end of everything as life has its ups and downs and what Kiki experienced actually is common but temporary. So, I think it’s about how one gets one’s ‘magic’ and ‘sparks’ back.
