Saw your take on Spirited Away. Interesting!😯
Now that I think about it, it makes so much sense. I always think that her parents were blinded by greed and Chihiro was then supposed to pay for their mistake, and man, I feel bad for the girl. But she's a strong one!! That one scene with Haku always tears my heart whenever I see it and it reminds me that it's okay to be confused and cry for a bit. Same thing with Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. I always think that it's a movie about adulting and learning about the world on your own. I wonder what you think about that one :o
Thank you very much for finding my take interesting, sender! I think your take is accurate as well since Chihiro was in trouble because of her parents. And I personally think Chihiro finally doesn’t see and perceive her parents as pigs anymore. As for her, in her eyes, her parents are ‘humans’. When she was told to choose which ones her parents are among those pigs, she easily recognized that her parents aren’t two of them. That scene with Haku you mentioned is, indeed, heartwarming. I truly kin how Haku is as fictional character since he has his own duality.
And for Kiki’s Delivery Service, I took my time to watch it and I can say I agree with you. It’s about adulting and being independent. Not relying on others. Yet, it’s okay to get some help and emotional support from others. The way I interpreted it when I was watching is Kiki got burnt out, overwhelmed by a lot of things in her life as she was still trying to fit in and figuring it out so it made her ‘lose her magic’. The magic is passion in my personal interpretation. When people lose their passion, sometimes they aren’t as excel at what they do as they usually are. Like her friend with drawing skill, just because there was time when we ‘lost our magic’ or ‘sparks’, it doesn’t mean we couldn’t get it back again. It doesn’t mean we can’t thrive again. It’s not the end of everything as life has its ups and downs and what Kiki experienced actually is common but temporary. So, I think it’s about how one gets one’s ‘magic’ and ‘sparks’ back.
Um… hi? I came across your tweet and ended up getting curious about your profile. I saw that you like to write, so I read some of your work, and when I came across the line 'he isn't writing about tragedy this time', my eyes filled with tears for reasons I can't even explain.
I don't know you, I'm not even a writer, and I might never come across you again after this… but I really hope you keep writing.
I'm sorry if this feels sudden or makes you uncomfortable, I promise that's not my intention. This is actually the first time I've ever sent an anonymous message to someone I don't know, so please excuse me. Anyway… I hope life treats you well, Alexander.
Hello, sender! That’s okay, you don’t have to be sorry since I don’t find your presence bothersome. So, I let you know it doesn’t discomfort me. I’m honestly so over the moon seeing someone giving thoughts on my writings. Saying how touched they feel. Thank you for your support and encouragement. That means a lot! An honour to be the first one you sent message to while I’m someone you don’t know. May life always treat you well, too, sender! ❤️
