Favorite mechanic from a game you'd like to see revisited?

Was watching the PC Engine Power video on Gomola Speed earlier so immediately we think "what if Gomola Speed but good."
Or maybe the single, consistent wandering enemy aspect of the NES Friday the 13th but it's good. Just make the game good get on it game developers
