What are your thoughts on celtic paganism? Especially the way people who are disconnected from that culture practice it? (I'm an aspiring pagan and you're a great source of knowledge on this)
I think that whatever it is people are doing is its own thing and they should atleast be transparent about it being ecclectic and not "authentic". Between spotty sources, let alone unadulterated sources, there is no way of knowing what the actual down to earth practices were. And there was so much regional variety in beliefs that rolling them under one "Pagan" mono-theocracy is just heavily inspired larping

Thalassophobia. But I love marine biology. The scale and void of the open ocean just terrifies me
Semi related to my anxiety around aquarium corals. Did you know palythoa can relase poison strong enough to melt your eyeballs?
Otherwise, Hypochondria and anxiety around fruit in supermarkets from childhood because I heard stories about tropical spiders biting people

I want to really get into astronomy and astrophysics more. I've thought about going back to college for it and wanted to ask you how to stay motivated and reach the level you've reached as an expert. Not just in astro stuff but in general, how do you improve so consistently?

Is there a practical way to build a space telescope without those diffraction spikes? Do diffraction apikes mess up a bunch of the math or make astronomers need to do more math?
