Any thoughts on John Denver? I think his work as whole is somewhat underappreciated, although his later work can be an acquired taste (I'm a sucker for schmaltzy guitar and sax solos of the eighties).

I like John Denver quite a bunch!! Besides the obvious stuff like "Take Me Home, Country Roads" I like stuff like "Boy from the Country" just fine even if it does sound like something you'd have heard at a funeral. Also his stuff with The Muppets is top notch, he was one of those celebrities who completely understood how to interact with them. There's a reason he did more than one Christmas special with them.
