Do you think of yourself as a human being or human doing?
I'm more a human being, though I've spent enough of life pretending to be a human doing. I'd rather believe that some of the most profound things happen in stillness like becoming, unlearning, observing, feeling. Doing tells the world what I can accomplish, being quietly asks who I am when there is nothing left to perform. Perhaps I'm somewhere between the two a creature learning that a life need not be perpetually productive to be profoundly alive.
