What's your one personal favorite game for each system that you've played? (Long one I know!)
hoo boy here we go (I am going to exclude consoles I never owned physically up until 21)
NES: Pinbot - this isn't a GOOD conversion of the pinball table of the same name, but it was my first video game ever played so it codified my love for all things pinball and video games, together and separate.
But also don't sit a 18 month old child down with a NES it might ruin their life tee hee pelo.
Genesis/Mega Drive: Dynamite Heady - GOD I LOVE THIS GAME. It sits 4th in my top 100 games list and it's just a masterclass platformer for the mad geniuses over at Treasure. It's a shame the US version got Sega of America's "make this shit harder" bat and cut out a chunk of the personality but hey the JP version got a translation and is very playable.
SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2 - okay yeah this is the easy answer but can you really blame me dear Anon?
PS1: Crash Bandicoot 2 - Crash 1 was the first PS1 game I had, and I loved it. Hell child me even got the damn 100% I loved Crash 1 that much. Crash 2 however was a game that was gifted to me day one and I tore into that hardcore and enjoyed it even more. While the PS1 was the system that hammered in my love for RPGs I will not in good faith say the PS1 port of FFV was my personal fav for MANY reasons so Crash 2 it is.
N64: Perfect Dark - #1 Adam game ever made all years baybee play Perfect Dark it's Rare's Magum Opus and I will die on that hill. While I never owned Goldeneye due to having a parent who enforced the ESRB I did play it a lot at friends houses and eventually I'd get a N64 at the house of the parent that had custody of me and they didn't care about the ESRB so when Perfect Dark was announced and knowing it was the Goldeneye team I WANTED it. I would end up getting it (and hey the N64 I got was the DK64 one so I had the expansion pack yippie) with some toys r us gift cards and I think I proceeded to lose an immeasurable amount of hours playing that game.
Game Boy/Game Boy Color: Game and Watch Gallery series - I'm combining up the GB and GBC into one because even if I kept them separate the answer would just be Game and Watch Gallery 1 and Game and Watch Gallery 3 so they get the combination here. I loved compilation games growing up and Game and Watch Gallery was a extension to that love. G&WG 1 I put infinite time into as a kid with a hard focus on Oil Panic. G&WG 2 and 3 were rentals but boy howdy did I put in a huge amount of time of that rental period into the games.
GBA: Mega Man Battle Network 3 - god did I love this game. Loved it so much that when I played MMBN 4 I was so upset by it I dropped the series all together. 3 was just an extension of 2, which I already loved a lot, so it was basically the perfect game for me for the console. Shoutouts to Castlevania Aria of Sorrow though, second favorite game on the system divided only by a hair width.
game.com: No
Gamecube: Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 & 2 - I think I lost all of the 7th grade to this video game. I got it when it was fairly new as a gift and it was the hot game among me and my friends at the time. We even managed to get some four player local games in sometimes! Alas I was a child beard with no allowance at the time (or ever) so it was strictly offline for me, but dang did I put a lot of time into that offline.
PS2: Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction - I was going to say Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space but I want to fondly remember Pandemic and their silly little open world shoot bang game that was just overall pure entertainment.
360: Dragon Age - Yeah I uh, LOVED this game. Multiple playthroughs, unlocking everything, getting very close to all achievements but never did. I don't think I'd revisit Dragon Age anytime soon, but by golly
PC: Morrowind - What the fuck was the 7th grade where did that go
