What is your personal opinion on The Situation with Tyler character and writing and how his focus effect the show in progress?(Not hate Btw. My favourite character is Tyler and i am a huge Wyler shipper. Just curious what do you think about it)
Honestly, I think hes fine. For the most part. My issues with his writing are less about whats objectively on screen (though I wish we got more of it) and more about how the current audience is conditioned to perceive him. This show is very exposition heavy. Its basically show and tell, then TELL AGAIN for the people who were scrolling on their phones 3 scenes ago and weren't paying attention. However, Tyler as a character is a slowburn. Compared to characters like Wednesday and Enid who have had a very strong identity since episode 1, Tyler is the opposite. Other people have constantly shaped or decided who he is, and he still has to figure out his own identity, and right now after s2 hes essentially a blank slate because all his motives for 'revenge or to be evil' have been stripped away, his arc is self-actualization. Tyler's 'real' character so far has mostly hidden in subtext, and people dont read subtext anymore, which is unfortunate because his character is one of the biggest catalysts to the events of the show. The mysteries genuinely orbit him like no else, except for maybe wednesday herself. His structural importance is almost so seamless it baffles me sometimes. But a lot of the audience doesnt treat him as such because the dialogue from the other characters is constantly badmouthing or underplaying him, especially in season 2. And if ur audience mainly listens to Wednesday say "I hate him, he doesnt matter" even if her actions contradict that (bcs shes an unreliable narrator), its not surprising to me that the audience will gloss over her actions, at most call it odd or be confused by it, and just default to taking what she says as objective truth to the point they dont understand why hes still in the show! Tyler is uniquely under-explained in a show that over-explains everyone else. Tyler, and his relationship to Wednesday trusts you with subtext more than ANY other dynamic in the show. I personally like that, I love digging and when things arent spelled out, but I think a good chunk of the audience struggles because everything is spelled out except them. So if the writers decide to nip a lot of the discourse in the bud by spelling a major part of their dynamic out, I'll welcome it. I'll also welcome any dialogue confirmation of Tyler's importance to the story, but I dont think his focus, right now nor if it increased, would affect the show negatively. Because outside of the Addams morbidity, he's the darkest part of the show. Emphasizing him so the show can go even darker is a win in my book!
I think the body swap was wonderful and obviously popular because it was fun an entertaining (also Jen and Em did AMAZING) but i think WCs act a bit like it was the best thing to happen to television.
Enid is the fan favorite or everyone hates her which is it?
what do you like most about weyler?
how are you
ahhh i love the fact that ur slop will never be as good and popular as wenclair is 🩷 because no one apart from the few fakebian psychos actually like that hideous male thing meanwhile enid and wednesday are universally loved 🩷🩷
