Now, to answer your questions, once a person decides to awaken their dormant animal traits, they experience a full shift into their animal form before taking on their new hybrid form!! The traits they develop from that point (ears/tails/fangs/claws, etc) are permanent. They can never be 100% human again (though in appearance they're mostly human, just with animal traits ykno?) . There is a clear divide between prey and predator hybrids. Predator hybrids essentially gain biological superiority over all other hybrids. Similar to alphas, predator hybrids gain power, stamina, size, and dominating pheromones..However, because of the sudden surge of power, some predators end up feral (like Tae). On the other side of the spectrum are the prey hybrids, who end up with practically the opposite effect. If as a human, the prey hybrid had been big and strong, they lose those aspects, becoming smaller and softer and weaker to match their animal (the feral side of myself wants to add an mpreg aspect to this but I'm unsure of how if could fit eheheh). Now, JK and Jimin, who have gone through the degradation of becoming small prey hybrids, resent human Seokjin for trying to comfort them/reassure them everything is okay (because it's not!! JK is especially bothered by his newfound bunny softness!!). To their surprise (and partial disappointment) Hobi awakens hours later as a predator snake hybrid!! The newfound snake traits heighten Hobi's evil emotions making him irrationally angry/jealous at Seokjin's fawning over Tae (He's always had feelings for Jinnie!! Everyone does!! It's Jinnie!!) Hobi grows so jealous he doesn't know if he wants to attack Tae or attack Jinnie, so the bunny kitty duo talk him into hurting Jinnie by forcing him to awaken (because Jinnie has been very adamant about wanting to remain human) and Hobi just kind of goes along with them?? He's not sure what to expect of Jinnie's awakening, the bunny kitty duo insist he's going to become a prey hybrid and he likes the sound of that, but his evilness makes him want to punish Jinnie by having his favorite predator hybrid attack/eat him regardless of the outcome (bc he assumes Tae is a mindless feral beast who will cease to recognize Jinnie after his hybridization). So when they forcibly inject Seokjinnie and push him into Tae's enclosure, they kind of expect Tae to go berserk after Jinnie's full shift, but instead they're completely thrown off by the tiger hybrid's total gentleness when Jinnie emerges as a tiny, shivering ball of white fur the size of a cotton ball (Jikook feel kinda bad yet mostly smug at the fact that Jinnie ended up as a more vulnerable prey than either of them) (And Hoseok wants to swallow Seokjinnie whole. Literally.) Seokjin, now a dwarf hamster, goes into shock. He can't believe what has happened, the fact that his friends betrayed him and that now, he's forever going to be prey. His shock prevents him from shifting back and Tae's aversion to others who aren't Jinnie makes it impossible for anyone to take the tiny ball of fluff away from him!! What are the J line to do now???

i’m just imagining sj x ot6 in a hybrid rehabilitation centre where they each have individual cells / rooms to stay in (in nice condition ofc) but just so happen that many of their cells have lookouts that face each other. so i wonder if anyone has growing infatuation for hybrid sjinnie and just can’t wait to get their claws (heh, or paws) around his teeny tiny waist and round hips that he keeps adorably flaunting by the lookout. ohoho just wait until common time is finally scheduled and the hybrids get to interact freely with one another in the yard….

They have the chance to remain human, never awakening their animal traits, however if they awaken their traits there's no going back!! They're stuck!! Now there's Seokjinnie, handsome, responsible, reliable, essentially the perfect man, ofc others around him believe without a doubt he'd be destined to become a gentle giant predator hybrid, something big and strong. Seokjinnie himself had been fully confident he'd present as a wolf or something along those lines as well, however he hadn't felt the need to change any aspect of himself, satisfied as a human. His friends go along with awakening their traits first, Joon leading the change with awakening as a Grey wolf and becoming more assured of himself, Yoongi awakening, both surprisingly yet unsurprisingly as a panther (everyone expected he'd become a house cat, but that position went to Jimin), Taehyung grows bigger and more violent, unstable as a giant tiger hybrid (he's the first to be locked up, having become feral after his awakening) and Jungkook, to both Seokjin's delight yet horror, shrinks, becoming an adorable cotton-tail hybrid. The competitive and possessive maknae becoming fearful and withdrawn afterwards as a result (viewing this, Seokjinnie absolutely becomes against awakening, he and Hoseok promise each other to remain human to look after the others, except Seokjinnie doesn’t realize Hoseok yearns to awaken, too. He sees the way Joon and Yoongi positively glow as predators, thriving, and he wants that too. He fully believes that's in the cards for him, too. Now, Seokjinnie has been looking after the maknaes all by himself, reassuring JK and Jimin that there's nothing wrong with their newfound softness but they resent him for it. He doesn't understand them, not anymore, they say. So he ends up spending most of his time with Tae who's become 95% feral and only recognizes Seokjin's face and touch. Tae, despite his massive size and violent behavior, becomes like a kitten under Seokjin's palm, purring and scenting his hyung at every opportunity. Seokjinnie tries to encourage him to see the others, but Taehyung resolutely refuses, all big tiger claws and fangs and rage the second anyone else gets close. At a loss, Seokjin sighs as he leaves Taehyung's enclosure one night, only to find Jikook and Hoseok in front of him with venomous grins..Hoseok had become a predator snake hybrid and in his hand, he held the injection to awaken Seokjin!!!! Seokjin panics and protests as much as he can, and the commotion caused for Taehyung to wake up and begin roaring from his cage, but Jikook hold Seokjin steady as Hoseok forcibly injects him and then pushes him back into the tiger's enclosure!!!!!! [Can you guess what Seokjinnie becomes?? 👀]
