I’m doing quite well today, & I think I’ll take this as an opportunity to share about my time at GalaxyCon this weekend.

It was my first convention, & I will say I had an amazing time, however… many of the larger events being held were overbooked, crowded, & poorly managed. It’s unfortunate, because part of why I decided to go was to meet Matthew Lillard, but I couldn’t even get in line due to the line being capped. I did get to meet Skeet Ulrich, & he was a pleasure to have spoken to. He hugged me twice!

I also had the chance to meet Erika Henningsen (Charlie), Blake Roman (Angel Dust), Patina Miller (Sera), & Shoba Narayan (Emily). I got Erika & Blake’s autographs, & they were all sooooo nice… except Shoba.

When the Hazbin Hotel Q&A panel ended, the voice actors went to meet fans at their booths. This being Shoba’s first convention, many of us had expected a more pleasant attitude from her. As one of the first people in line, I personally was shown annoyance, frustration, & disinterest in the conversation, despite the line being extremely short. There was no rush, but her impatience was evident not only on her face but by her body language.

Patina however was the absolute star out of the four, she showed me such genuine love & kindness, answered all my questions no matter how many times I came back to her line. Her advice to me has changed the trajectory of my future, & I couldn’t be more happy to know I have such a lovely woman supporting me. She even made me promise to come see her again next year & update her on things, which I’m very excited for.

Overall, I had a wonderful time despite the negative instances. I wish I had brought more money to spend in the artist alley, or to buy more autographs & photos. The event left me (& my father) exhausted physically & mentally though, there was no seating except for where you could eat, which as a disabled person made staying for any more than 3 hours difficult.
