Yeah I think sometimes people who feel sorry for themselves but are not willing to do anything to change their situation do come from a self-serving, selfish place where there is a part of them that /likes/ feeling like a victim. I don’t necessarily think that’s what’s happening with Taehyung because he wouldn’t see himself as a victim, but there is a large part of him that 1. Does not like change (all the change he’s experienced has come from bad things) and 2. Wants control (so he can stop bad things from happening). That combo does result in some self-centered behavior and thinking but also leads to his own suffering and self-pity. He doesn’t accept help and he doesn’t want anything about the shop to change, even though he needs help and the shop (and him) isn’t performing well. Jungkook is kind of calling him out on that behavior. For Jungkook, there is no honor in suffering.
